Grenada County Traffic Court Records
A city police officer or another agency writes the ticket. The case record, though, belongs to the court named on the citation, not the officer who stopped you. Grenada Municipal Court handles city-court matters. Grenada Justice Court, through the Justice Court Clerk, handles qualifying traffic and misdemeanor cases. If a ticket lands in Circuit Court after an appeal or another proceeding, the Circuit Clerk becomes the office to contact. No single free Grenada County traffic search combines these records.
A traffic docket can show the citation or case, a setting, payment or plea activity, an order, and the court's final disposition. It is not a complete driver-service record. For the case, the contest procedure, a court date, or a copy, ask the court named at the bottom of the ticket. The issuing agency does not automatically hold the court record.
Grenada County Traffic Ticket Custodians
Grenada Municipal Court sits at 26 North Green Street, Grenada, Mississippi 38901, reachable at 662-227-3430. Its official page posts the court's schedule, payment methods, and a mandatory-appearance warning. Justice Court records rest with Justice Court Clerk Judith Eldridge. Her office is at 16 First Street, Grenada, Mississippi 38901, 662-226-3331. The official directory lists the Eastern and Western Justice Court judges. They share that same clerk-office contact. For issuing-agency context, the Grenada Police Department page explains the department's side of a citation.
A police contact can answer questions about how a ticket was issued. The court named on the ticket still controls the docket, the court date, payment, and the record itself. One caution: do not send a Municipal Court file request to the City Clerk just because both offices serve the city. City administrative records and court records are separate functions.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
The court offers no official citation-number or name lookup portal. The Municipal Court page has no public case-search form. The city payment page only shows an online payment route and a phone route. Being able to pay is not proof of a public docket search.
Use the ticket itself as your starting record. It names the issuing court, the citation or case number, the date, and any appearance instruction. With no public online lookup, call the court or visit the counter with the ticket in hand. Justice Court likewise offers a clerk contact rather than a citation search form. PAMEC/MEC is not a verified Municipal or Justice Court citation portal either.
- Read the citation and identify the court printed on it before using a Grenada County traffic route.
- Keep the citation or case number exactly as shown and ask the named court to confirm what identifier it needs.
- For Municipal Court, use the published court contact or payment route only after confirming that payment is allowed for that citation.
- For Justice Court, contact the Justice Court Clerk with the ticket and the court district information shown on the notice.
- Record the court's confirmed date, any appearance instruction, and the next required action from the ticket or order.
Official access channels are limited. The table reflects that limit rather than inventing search fields the courts do not display.
| Channel | Field or control | Required? | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| City Municipal Court web page | Citation number or name search | Not present | No public lookup form located. |
| City payment page | Citation or case number | Not exposed | Processor form was not visible in inspected HTML. Confirm before relying on it. |
| City phone payment | Citation or account details | Unknown | Published call route is 1-833-202-4719. Ask what identifier is required. |
| Justice Court | Citation or case lookup | Not present | Contact the Justice Court Clerk at 662-226-3331 with the ticket. |
| PAMEC/MEC | Trial-court case search | Authenticated and unknown | Not a verified Municipal or Justice citation portal. |
Grenada County Ticket Lookup Limits
The city payment page carries the label “Special Judges - Court Payments.” It offers an online payment route and a 1-833-202-4719 phone route. It carries no citation controls or name search. Paying is not a way to confirm that a citation has posted, that the court allows payment, or that an appearance is optional. The Mississippi DPS citation guidance points people who want to contest a citation to the issuing jurisdiction. It also points them to the court shown on the ticket.
That state guidance backs up the local routing rule. Call the court the citation names instead of assuming a state administrative page holds the court docket.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
Your individual date comes from the ticket, a notice, or a later order. Grenada Municipal Court normally convenes Tuesday at 8:00 a.m., skipping the fifth Tuesday. That recurring schedule is not your individual setting. The city page warns that some traffic and misdemeanor matters carry a mandatory appearance. Call Municipal Court before trusting a general Tuesday schedule or an internet payment link.
If a docket date and a notice conflict, keep both. Then call the court named on the case. A reset or continued entry can replace an earlier setting. The court posts no public calendar form, citation-number format, or courtroom assignment. No universal case-status display exists. Use the exact citation or case identifier printed on the ticket instead of guessing a local format.
| Citation or case number | Use the exact identifier from the ticket. A public Grenada format was not verified. |
|---|---|
| Court | Municipal Court, Justice Court, or another court named on the citation or later notice. |
| Date and time | Confirm the individual appearance date from the latest notice or order. A recurring Tuesday session is not enough. |
| Setting information | Ask the court whether an appearance, payment, reset, or other action is required. |
| Status | Do not infer status from an unverified online route. The court can explain its docket entry or notice. |
Grenada County Tuesday Traffic Court
The Municipal Court page's normal Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. session rule comes with a fifth-Tuesday exception. That is a court-operation schedule. Your ticket is not promised a given Tuesday. A January 27, 2026 city homepage notice showed why verification matters. It announced a weather cancellation with continuation information while displaying an apparent year typo in the later date.
Treat a cancellation notice as a reason to call the court, not as a stand-in for the ticket or a later order. The court can confirm whether an earlier setting was vacated and whether payment, appearance, or another direction applies now.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Grenada Municipal Court lets drivers pay a standard fine in some matters. Payment replaces showing up. Certain traffic and misdemeanor violations still require a mandatory appearance. No universal contest deadline is published. And the court does not promise payment works for every citation. So read the ticket and spot which court it names. Call that court before the date printed on it. Do this whenever the route is unclear or an appearance is required.
| Paying a listed standard fine | Contesting or responding to the citation |
|---|---|
| May be allowed instead of appearing for some Municipal Court matters. | Follow the procedure and deadline confirmed by the court shown on the ticket. |
| Municipal Court lists cash, money order, cashier's check, and personal check for Mississippi residents, with online and phone routes separately available. | Do not infer a deadline from the regular Tuesday schedule or from a payment link. |
| Confirm that the citation is eligible and that the payment route accepts the correct identifier. | Call before the listed date when the ticket requires appearance or the next step is uncertain. |
Missed date or uncertain status: The public local materials do not publish a Grenada-specific failure-to-appear deadline, warrant procedure, or license-hold schedule. Contact the named court immediately with the citation or case number and ask whether a new setting or other court action exists. Do not assume online payment clears a missed appearance or updates a separate state record.
Grenada County Traffic Fine Chart
The official Grenada Municipal Court fine chart lists set violation amounts. It is not a personal balance. It is not a citation lookup, and it makes no promise about every case. Court instructions, mandatory-appearance rules, and any later order still control. The chart shows only listed amounts.
| Listed chart item | Observed amount | Caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Speeding 01-09 mph over | $164.50 | Static Municipal Court chart amount, not a case balance. |
| Speeding 10-19 mph over | $184.50 | Confirm the citation's court and instructions. |
| Speeding 20-30 mph over | $204.50 | Confirm the citation's court and instructions. |
| Speeding 31 or more mph over | $234.50 | Confirm the citation's court and instructions. |
| School or work zone speeding | $255 | Static chart amount only. |
| Careless driving | $144 | Static chart amount only. |
| Reckless driving | $244 | Static chart amount only. |
| Improper parking | $52 | Static chart amount only. |
| Seatbelt | $27 | Static chart amount only. |
| Child restraint | $119 | Static chart amount only. |
License, tag, safety, equipment, and other categories appear on the chart as well. Rather than adding chart entries together, ask the court for the current balance and the action your specific ticket requires.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two offices hold two different files. The traffic court record sits with the court the citation names. That may be Municipal Court or Justice Court. It covers the court case itself. That means the appearance, payment, plea or disposition, and any order the judge enters. Mississippi DPS keeps a separate driver-service record that may show licensing consequences or suspension information. One record does not substitute for the other.
| Question | Court traffic record | Mississippi driver-service record |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | The court named on the ticket and its clerk or court office. | Mississippi Department of Public Safety. |
| Purpose here | Citation case, setting, payment, plea or disposition, order, and court action. | Separate licensing and suspension information maintained by the state. |
| Correct question | Ask the named court about a citation, date, contest, payment, or certified disposition. | Use DPS only for the separate state driver-service matter. |
| Important limit | A payment receipt does not replace a DPS inquiry. | A DPS entry does not substitute for a certified court disposition. |
The official DPS FAQ lists several common suspension reasons, including certain court-related obligations. Even so, DPS is not the Grenada County court docket. For a citation dispute, DPS sends the person back to the issuing jurisdiction and its court.
Grenada County Court File Questions
Keep a court record request narrow and court-specific. Give the clerk the citation or case number. Add the court name and an approximate date. Then name the exact item, such as a docket sheet, order, payment record, or certified disposition. Each court explains its own copy process. Municipal Court and Justice Court post no public online certified-copy form and publish no local traffic-copy fee schedule.
For Circuit or Chancery matters tied to another case, PAMEC/MEC is an account-based route. The relevant clerk still handles the court record. A document behind a docket entry is one thing; a driver-service record is another. The Grenada County court record search lays out the clerk request details used for documents and certified copies.
Copies and Fees
The city fine chart states violation amounts, not copy prices. Grenada Municipal Court publishes no fee. Justice Court publishes none either. Nothing covers plain traffic-record copies, certified copies, record searches, or postage. Ask the court holding your citation case for its current charge and delivery method. Keep three things separate. A fine chart, a payment route, and a record-copy fee are not the same.
| Requested item | Fee status | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Municipal or Justice Court plain copy | Not posted in inspected official materials | Ask the named court for its current copy rate and request procedure. |
| Municipal or Justice Court certified copy | Not posted in inspected official materials | Ask whether certification is available and what the current charge is. |
| Court record search or postage | Not posted in inspected official materials | Ask before sending payment or a mailed request. |
| City fine chart amount | Depends on listed violation | A fine amount is not a court-record copy fee. |
Grenada County Missed Traffic Date
Grenada's public local materials publish no failure-to-appear deadline, warrant process, payment-posting rule, or license-hold schedule. That gap matters. Do not assume the regular Tuesday session sets a response deadline. Nor should you trust a payment link to clear an old case. Contact the court named on the ticket immediately and give the clerk your citation or case number. Ask whether a warrant, new setting, payment issue, or other court action exists. Then follow whatever procedure the clerk or judge states. A current answer from the named court beats reliance on old city amnesty notices or emergency-operation notices, which no longer set payment policy. When a date, payment option, or status is uncertain, reconcile the ticket's court, your individual notice, and any later order. Those are the records that decide it.
